Cikat bay - safe and without waves Cikat bay - safe and without waves

Mali Losinj's climate is great - plenty of oranges and lemons grow during the winter months. The average temperature of the sea is from 12°C in January to 27°C in August. Cikat bay is perfect for beginners and slightly advanced surfers and sailors because it is protected against waves and very safe.

The most likely winds in Mali Losinj are:

Mistral

This thermic wind from west-northwest blows almost every afternoon during the summer months, with an average force of 5-12 knots - perfect for all our beginner- and advanced courses. In spring and autumn the Mistral blows less frequently but can become stronger.

Bora

This infamous north-easterly wind from the Velebit mountains is chilly and can easily reach gale force, especially in autumn, winter and spring. Due to that, these months are great for good windsurfers who will find nice freeride and bump&jump conditions in front of the campingsite Cikat and in Osor. During the summer months a light Bora occurs very frequently in the morning hours, before the wind changes to Mistral.

Jugo

This warm wind blows from the south-east and can be a sign for bad weather. Because the weather is very constant and sunny during the summer months, Jugo is more likely in spring and autumn. Great windsurfing sessions can be held nicely directly in front of the Sunbird-Centre.
